What Project Fork stores, why it stores it, and how to remove it. Last reviewed September 2026.
Privacy Policy
Transparency in data collection and storage.
1. Data Collection: Project Fork collects and processes only the data required to deliver Discord bot functionality, including Discord User IDs, usernames, guild IDs, channel IDs, command execution records, relationship records, and long-term memory entries written for a user.
2. Long-term memory: When an individual interacts with Fork, the bot may store a personal memory profile for them: extracted facts, stated interests, projects discussed, episodic conversation summaries, and relationship status. This is enabled by default so that a returning user is recognised across servers. It is stored per Discord user ID, never shared between users, and is never exposed for another person. Any user can turn it off for themselves with /memory privacy enabled:false (or f!memory disable) and can delete everything stored about them with /memory clear. Turning it off and back on again does not restore deleted data.
3. Memory embeddings: Stored memories are converted to numeric vector representations so that only the memories relevant to a given message are sent to the AI model. These vectors are derived data, stored in the same per-user table, and are removed together with the memory they came from. They contain no text beyond the memory itself.
4. Message Content: In channels where AI auto-reply is explicitly enabled by server administrators, recent messages are processed solely to generate contextual conversational responses. Activity telemetry records counts and timestamps, not message text or channel names. Message contents are not sold and are not shared with unauthorised third parties.
5. Storage and Retention: All data is stored locally in an ACID-compliant SQLite database on the host system. Server administrators can delete FAQ entries, channel configurations, and moderation records at any time via the management dashboard or bot commands. Individual users control their own memory as described above.
6. Third-Party AI Services: When AI inference is performed, prompts are transmitted over TLS to the configured AI API provider (for example Gemini or OpenRouter) in line with that provider's API terms. Providers used by a given deployment are listed in that deployment's configuration.
7. Moderation and audit data: Moderation actions record the target member, the moderator, the action, the stated reason, and the time. These records are visible to server administrators of that server only.
Terms of Service
Guidelines for bot usage across Discord servers.
1. Acceptance: By adding Project Fork to your Discord server or interacting with its services, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service and the Discord Developer Terms of Service.
2. Authorized Usage: You agree not to use Project Fork for unlawful activities, harassment, spam, raiding, or attempting to bypass Discord moderation controls.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties: The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The development team is not responsible for actions taken by server moderators using bot moderation tools.
4. Termination: Server administrators may remove Project Fork at any time. The bot operators reserve the right to restrict access to instances violating the Discord Community Guidelines.
